For Immediate Release

WHAT:

On July 1, 2022, Kaysville City will cease to provide Fire, Emergency Medical, and Paramedic Services to the City of Fruit Heights. This was a decision made by Fruit Heights City Officials to go in a different direction with these important services to their community.

Over the past 67 years it has been a pleasure for Kaysville Fire to respond to the needs of the citizens of Fruit Heights and for our two cities to work together in this important and sometimes life-saving manner. The first contract in 1956 between Fruit Heights and Kaysville was for Fire protection and was $200 per year and $50 per fire. With 2,378 total people in both cities at that time, these dollars made sense. Today there are around 43,000 individuals in both cities and recent negotiations to agree on a fair and proportionate cost to provide these services were unsuccessful. Until last year, Davis County provided Paramedic Services for Fruit Heights.

Said Fire Chief Paul Erickson, “It has been an honor over the years for the Kaysville Fire Department to serve the citizens of Fruit Heights. We wish the residents and visitors to their city prosperity and health as they meet their life-saving needs elsewhere.”
