There are five openings for the Kaysville City Historic Preservation Commission. The terms of three of those appointed will be for 4 years and the terms of two of those appointed will be for 2 years. Term lengths will be chosen in a random fashion by Mayor Katie Witt. She will receive applications for this Commission starting April 30, 2019. Interested applicants may submit a letter of intent and resume to the Mayor by May 23, 2019 before 5:00 PM.
The appointed Kaysville City Historic Preservation Commission Members do not have to live in Kaysville City limits but at least 3 of the 5 appointed commission members must be Kaysville City residents. Preference shall be made for professional members from the disciplines of history, archaeology, planning, urban planning, American studies, American civilization, cultural geography, cultural anthropology, and to those exceptionally interested in the history and heritage of Kaysville. Appointments will be made without regard to political considerations and solely on the basis of qualification for the position. It is anticipated that service will start no later than July 1, 2019.
Mayor Katie Witt and Council Member Michelle Barber will interview all applicants between June 3 and June 7, 2019. It is anticipated that appointments will be recommended by Mayor Witt to the Kaysville City Council on June 20, 2019 at the regularly scheduled city council meeting.
