[ARCHIVED] Trail Maintenance and Temporary Closures: Denver & Rio Grande Western Rail Trail

Temporary Trail Closure

Beginning tomorrow, Davis County contractors will be performing pavement maintenance on the Denver & Rio Grande Western Rail Trail, from Centerville to Clinton. The trail will be closed in sections as the work progresses but will reopen over the weekend, with a full reopening expected by Thursday, August 30th. The trail will have glow-in-the-dark lane striping installed mid-September. This is the first trail in the state to feature this technology, which is expected to enhance safety during twilight and nighttime hours.

Work on the Kaysville portion of the trail is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 26th, with potential closures lasting through Thursday, August 29th. Signs and barricades will be in place to ensure user safety and to protect the new asphalt coating while it cures.

It is crucial that all users stay off the trail during the maintenance period! We will not be responsible for any damage to personal items if you trespass on the asphalt before it has fully cured.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as work is done to improve our community's trails. For questions, please contact Davis County Community and Economic Development.
