Beginning in February, a VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program will be offered for free tax return preparation to qualified individuals.
Not only are VITA services free, they are also a reliable and trusted source for preparing tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers prepare and electronically file tax returns. To qualify, your income level needs to be at or below $70,000. Volunteers can prepare returns for Schedule C, business, and stock transactions.
The Tax Clinics for 2023 tax returns start February 1, 2024, and will be open until April 11, 2024. No appointment needed. The VITA locations within Kaysville are at:
Davis Technical College (550 E 300 S at the Student Resource Center) - Open Wednesdays from 5:00-8:00 PM
Francis Peak View Community Center (600 W Mutton Hollow Rd) - Open Thursdays from 5:30-8:30 PM
The following documents are required:
- Photo ID for all the adults in the household
- Social Security Cards for everyone in the household
- Deduction and Credit information
- Prior Year Return(preferred)
- Child and dependent care expenses (Tax ID of daycare provider)
- W2 or 1099
- Form 1095 A (Affordable Care Act)
- Documentation for any other income received (Uber, Door Dash, 1099K)
- Bank Routing and account number for Direct Deposit
