Over 18,000 Kaysville voters participated in the 2020 election, an impressive 92.9% voter turnout. The Kaysville Fiber bond and project was defeated by 285 votes.
We would like to extend a sincere thank you to the many people who worked hard on the project. The Technical Advisory Committee, Citizens Panel, and all other advisory groups have been dissolved along with all contracts and plans, and this project will no longer be pursued.
A thank you to the citizens who volunteered and advocated for the project. While the project did not pass, the need for better connectivity, expressed by nearly half of the city, remains. We realize that broadband is an essential part of our lives, and needs will continue to grow. We wish the “Kaysville for Fiber” citizens group the best in pursuit of other options.
