This will allow both city vehicles and those residents and visitors with Electric Vehicles to charge for low or no cost at various locations around the city including City Hall, the
Davis County Library/Splash Pad, and Barnes Park. These stations will bring people to the downtown
area and parks and will be an asset to businesses as people charge and shop.
One of the most exciting things about Kaysville having a power company is the control that local
officials have when it comes to electricity in Kaysville. All decisions about Kaysville City Power
are made by local representation. Because Kaysville City has its own Power Company, city employees
are able to install and maintain these Electric Vehicle charging systems. Kaysville City Council,
in conjunction with the Kaysville Power Commission, is able to establish the rates to charge and
have flexibility to look out for the best interests of Kaysville City Residents. There is no need,
in this case, to rely on any outside entity or be at the mercy of any other power organization.
