Memorial Day Program

Monday, May 29, 2023

Every year at the beautiful Kaysville Cemetery a wonderful program is shared with our community to honor those that have served our country. This program is for those who have served and their and loved ones. The program is put on by members of the Kaysville community and it makes a great way to start off your Memorial Day.

The Kaysville Memorial Day Committee is pleased to announce our Annual Memorial Day Celebration at the Kaysville Cemetery.  The celebration will take place on Memorial Day, May 29, 2023, at 10:00 a.m. on the west side of the Kaysville Cemetery.

Our featured speaker this year is Brooke Walters.  Brooke Walters, formerly Brooke Jenkins, has a compelling story and message to share with us.  Brooke received the tragic news that her husband Captain Cory Jenkins, US Army, was killed in action in  Afghanistan on Aug 25, 2009 at the age of 30.  The tragic news of Capt. Jenkin's death arrived only  two months after the birth of their little girl Reagan, and started Brooke on a journey of grieving, discovery and finding purpose in sharing her story.  Brooke Walters published her experiences in a book entitled "Coming Home, a Memoir."

Please come and hear Brooke's story and honor our fallen veterans an join us for a  wonderful program.  If you are interested in volunteering, you may also wish to help the committee with their annual placement of the United States flag on the grave of every Veteran buried at the cemetery.  The flags are placed on the afternoon of Friday, May 26, 2023.

Seating for the program is limited.  Please bring, chairs, blankets and maybe an umbrella in case it rains.  The program generally lasts an hour to an hour and 15 minutes and is a great event to attend and share with our youth so that they might join in our national heritage of service and sacrifice.
