Stars, Stripes & Kaysville Pride: A Message from the MayorHey Kaysville Neighbors, July’s here, and summer’s in full swing in our little slice of paradise. As your Mayor, I’m so thankful for our Kaysville community—where we swap stories, cheer for our kids at games, and come together like family. With Independence Day on the horizon, I want to share my excitement for our upcoming events, pass along your kind words, and give a heartfelt nod to the freedoms that make our city so special. Our 4th of July celebration is going to be a good one! Picture Main Street alive with floats, waving flags, and our local bands rocking the parade. The evening wraps up with a dazzling fireworks show at Barnes Park—bring your blankets and settle in for a night under the stars. A huge thank you to Heidi Christensen and her volunteers for organizing the parade. Our city staff, volunteers, and sponsors who make this magic happen are so appreciated. On the Sunday before the 4th, we’ll gather at Davis High for the annual Patriotic Devotional, a long-standing Kaysville tradition. I’m so grateful to former Mayor Steve Hiatt for planning, organizing and executing this meaningful program that brings us together to reflect on our shared values. Join us for these events and let’s celebrate as a community! Beyond the 4th, our events keep Kaysville buzzing. The “Lunch with the Mayor” series, now spotlighting our Youth City Council, is inspiring our kids through the K.I.D.S. Leadership Program. And those Your enthusiasm for these programs shows what makes our city shine. Your feedback warms my heart. You’ve shared how much you love our safe streets, family-friendly feel, and ties to our pioneer roots. A big shout-out to our police and fire departments for keeping us safe with unwavering dedication—thank you! Our engaged City Council members, who listen and connect with you, deserve a tip of the hat too. And to everyone volunteering as youth league coaches, serving on committees, or sharing bold ideas for Kaysville’s future—your time and passion make all the difference. As we celebrate Independence Day, let’s cherish our freedoms—freedom to speak our minds, worship as we choose, and chase our dreams. These liberties let us rally for festivals, coach our kids, and build a welcoming community. Kaysville lives these values every day, and I’m proud to be part of it. Thank you for making Kaysville home. Here’s to a safe, happy, and unforgettable 4th of July.

Ride Smart, Ride Safe: Know the Rules for Motorized and Self-Propelled Vehicles in Public SpacesWith summer in full swing, there’s been a noticeable increase in the use of electric bikes, scooters, and motorcycles throughout Kaysville—especially on sidewalks, roads, and in city parks. While these vehicles can be convenient and fun, it’s important to understand that they are subject to specific city ordinances to help ensure public safety. Kaysville City has adopted ordinances that regulate the use of motorized vehicles, off-highway vehicles (OHVs), and self-propelled vehicles on public property, including in parks. These rules are in place to protect pedestrians, prevent property damage, and promote responsible riding practices across our community. We encourage all residents—especially parents—to take a moment to review these rules with their children. Knowing what is and isn’t allowed can prevent accidents, injuries, and citations. Key Points to Remember: - Riding in a reckless or careless manner is prohibited and may result in warnings, fines, or even impoundment of the vehicle. - Motorized vehicles are not allowed in parks except where specifically posted. - Speed limits apply—10 mph maximum if no signage is posted. - Helmet laws apply to certain age groups and vehicle types. - Different classifications of e-bikes, scooters, and motorcycles come with different rules—see the included graphics for a full breakdown. By following these regulations, we can help maintain a safe and enjoyable environment in our parks, trails, and public spaces. 👉 For a complete list of ordinances, visit: Kaysville Municipal Code – Parks and Public Property
